Continue to do good to all…the harvest is coming!

GALATIANS 6 v. 7 – 10
‘Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.’

Paul is clear, again: in this adventure of discipleship, we get out of it what we put in – we need to invest time, talents, resources to ‘please the Spirit’, and we will continue to reap the benefits of everlasting life, begun here and now.
We are urged to ‘do good’ unfailingly, at all times – keep on doing good –
and to do it for all people – radical hospitality.
There is the promise of a harvest – of many more lives transformed by the grace and love of God – if we keep on keeping on, in Him.

PRAYER
Spirit of Jesus,
keep me in step with You,
keep me filled with You,
enable me to share more of You,
and to be ‘good news’ to all.
Prompt me to take risks today
in showing goodness and kindness
to others who come into my life
and are part of my journey .
AMEN.

CHALLENGE
What will ‘doing good to all’ look like today?
Listen out for God’s promptings, and choose to be obedient, no matter how wacky that impulse feels.
