NOTES
a) God responds to their true repentance, and God relents, stands down, blesses them with His mercy, goodness and grace
b) if this were the end of the story, it’s celebrations all round – the nasty and brutal Ninevites have turned from their evil ways – good news for everyone.
However, there’s a chapter four (just like there’s a final twist to the return of the prodigal son, with an angry and resentful older brother who can’t celebrate the return of his wasteful, low-life sibling) – what a shame.

Thank You,
gracious God,
that Your loving-kindness,
mercy and blessings
are for EVERYONE
and that ALL
can experience these
when they simply turn –
turn from the disaster-path
which leads away from You
and
turn onto the fullness-of-life path
which draws us ever nearer
to You
to Your purposes
to Your great plans
for our lives.
